Annual Business and Awards Dinner Meeting

After enjoying a Social Hour and deliciously prepared dinner, Kristy Anderson opened the meeting by welcoming everyone in attendance. Kristy introduced our two newest members, Kim Castenenda and Joe Von Seggern. She presented them with ARMA membership certificates, ARMA Chapter pins and a copy of our by-laws. Kristy reflected upon the accomplishments of the Chapter during the last year including our programs with interesting guest speakers; several tours of various facilities including Channel 5 News and the State Records Center. She announced our annual seminar on “Getting Ready for 2010: What the Last 10 Years of Electronic Discovery Has Taught Us” brought in over $4500.00 with 77 attendees. Also, the addition of the Silent Auction held during the seminar raised $632.00 to be applied toward the scholarship fund. The Chapter awarded two $500.00 scholarships this year. The Chapter contributed to various philanthropic projects including the “Support Our Troops” campaign which raised over $1,298.00 in monetary donations to purchase non-perishable food items, magazines, phone cards, games etc. for the Wyoming Army National Guard Troops stationed in Iraq and another $1000 in items were donated that were included in the packages. The Chapter also donated to Needs Inc and to charities selected by outside members located in Freedom (Big Brothers-Big Sisters) and Saratoga (Helping Hands Organization).
Ramona Christensen presented a brief accounting of the Treasurer’s Report and Balance Sheet. The Chapter started out with a balance of $3892.03 as of 7/1/04 and ended with a balance $7041.46 as of 6/1/05 in the checking account. Expenses for the year were $9649.99. Revenues for the year were $12,799.42. The Term Share Accounts have balances of $5260.12 (#4396) an $4000.00 (#10412) and the Share Savings Account has a balance of $824.74, for a total Checking and Share Account balance of $17,126.32 as of 6/1/05.
Kristy Anderson presented the awards to recognize the work of the Board members for the last year, which included the following:

Kristy Anderson also presented Tony Adams with a 35 year membership pin and Vicki Seals with a 25 year membership pin. Jess Sheely gave a brief speech summarizing the accomplishments that Tony and Vicki have contributed to our Chapter over the years. Donna Crock presented both Tony and Vicki a hand engraved crystal candy dish with the Wyoming Chapter logo and years as an ARMA Chapter member. Also, Janie Wait, who was not present, will receive a 5 year membership pin.
Chapter Member of the Year was awarded to Valerie Roybal for her excellent contribution and participation in Chapter activities during the year. She had many innovating ideas, including organizing the 50/50 Raffle and planning the Black Hawk Gambling Trip. She was always willing to help on committees, with programs, collecting items for the silent auction and Support our Troops campaign. In addition to this, she was the Membership Chair and was very active in recruiting new members to our chapter and following up with contacts. Overall, the chapter gained 10 new members this year, which is a huge accomplishment in itself.
Kristy Anderson announced the slate of officers for the upcoming Chapter year. They are: Rich Wilson-President, Donna Crock-Vice President, Vicki Nemecek-Secretary, Ramona Christensen-Treasurer,Valerie Roybal-Membership, Wendy Kinkade-Programs/Public Relations, Barbara Thomasee-Education, Donna Baur-Newsletter, Donna Crock-Webmaster and Kristy Anderson-Chairperson of the Board. Kristy asked for any additional nominations from the floor. Tony Adams, seconded by Wendy Kinkade, moved to approve the slate of officers for 2005-2006. Motion carried.
Kristy Anderson concluded the meeting by reminding everyone of the upcoming joint Chapter meeting with the Denver Mile High Chapter and the Northern Colorado Chapter which will be a tour of the Federal Records Center in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. Kristy also mentioned that ARMA International is planning to have a quilt made with squares contributed from each chapter and it will be on display at the ARMA International Conference. Kristy will arrange to have a patch for the quilt embroidered with our local Chapter logo on it to give to ARMA International.
