Topic: “Wyoming Newspaper Project” Members and guests met in the Multi Purpose Room of the Barrett Building for the purpose of attending a Webinar hosted by the Cheyenne ARMA Chapter. Various individuals that attended the conference were introduced by President Donna Crock as speakers who made presentations on the topic of the Wyoming Newspaper Project.

Beginning just last year, Wyoming began to have the first newspapers printed in Wyoming (between 1849 to 1922) accessible in an easily searchable format at http://www.wyonewspapers.org. There was discussion and slides about Wyoming's newspaper digitization project using the microfilm that was produced by the Wyoming State Archives in the late 1950's.

Lesley Boughton, Wyoming State Librarian, Erin Kinney, Digital Initiative Librarian and Desiree Saunders for the Wyoming State Library provided information on how this project began and how through the cooperation of records management and funding this great web site is now on line and available for research and information.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:40 pm.

Respectfully submitted by:
Bob Curtis
